The Team

Want to know more about the team that is currently on The Maze - Tour 55?

DanDan

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
Because I thought it was going to be a one night outreach event in 1999 and here we are 9 years later still following our Leader!!

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
Jon drinking a lot of chocolate milk- in fact I won’t allow it!

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
Being serious for a second, I am looking forward to meeting God in a new and deeper way. And I am looking forward to that with this awesome team God has assembled for this Tour.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
I’ve been here the longest so I can take a liberty here. I will miss my wife Cheryl the most. We will be married 30 years on July 15th and this will be the longest we have ever been apart, in fact it will be twice as long as the longest previous trip taken. Other than that, I will miss cutting the grass in the high humidity and the high 90’s.

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?

I thought we were going to California!!  Seriously, every time I have had the chance to be involved in the Maze ministry, I have been in awe of how God has and is using it.  So to be part of such an extensive, concentrated and focussed trip was too much to pass up.

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
Setting up & breaking down the Maze nearly every day of the trip!  Still it will be great exercise!

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
To be part of the Maze team, sharing the highs and the lows that we will experience as we work together to minister to thousands of people.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
A good nights sleep (and playing Soccer)!

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
Although I don’t find working with kids the easiest thing in the world, I knew this is something as a family God could really use us and teach us through, I am excited to see what he is going to do!!
What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
I am not looking forward to the long drives which I am sure will be exhausting.

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
The fellowship with all the other people working for the same goal to touch the lives of those we meet with the love of God.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
My big bath to relax in!!!!

HannahHannah

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
I thought it would be a good way to get my name out there, create some publicity.  America’s Got Talent was a total bust so I thought a 55-person tour would create some buzz about my celebrity.

Seriously though, I love the community that this kind of time, commitment and effort creates.  Prayer and service really bind people together.  It is a beautiful thing that should never be passed up.

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
The odor of manhood every morning.

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
Dan Petersen’s never ending supply of anti-nutritious snacks.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
Late Night with Conan O’Brien.  He lulls me to sleep every night.  I am assuming sleep is not an option for the 2 weeks we are gone.

JamesJames

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
Because the team could not survive with out me!

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
The lack of sleep with the excessive amount of work

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
The random but fun moments that always go on with trips like these

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
Besides sleep probably the freedom to relax whenever I want.

JonJon

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
All I heard was 10 times in 12 days and I was up for the challenge. I know God is going to use this time to teach all of us a lot, but after I heard I was going to spend 18 straight days with Stephen, I couldn’t say no.  We are going to have so much fun together.

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
Waking up before 11 am and especially 7…seriously though.

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
I cannot wait for our awesome truck rides and awesome deep conversations that will happen, breaking our maze set up time, visiting my pa’s homeland and country folk in West Virginia, and drinking tons of chocolate milk.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
Sleep, family feud and good pizza

DaveDave

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
I was asked to come and try to replace Frankie Post.  Wish me luck!

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
Waking up early!

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
Growing closer to God and to explore the amazing state of Iowa.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
I am going to miss helping Pastor Jimmy on the Junior High Retreat and the South Jersey Trip.

LauraLaura

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
I have heard about the maze from Dan for years, and I wanted to check it out for myself. That, and I committed to going when LA was one of the stops.

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
The smell of boy and the lack of sleep

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
Spending quality hours in the truck/car with people, and seeing the way God works throughout our ministering to kids.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
Sleep and Sportscenter

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?

Honestly I was asked because they needed help.  But I wanted to be apart of the trip ever since I heard about it a few months ago but didn’t think I could because of limited space and because I would be home in New Hampshire at that point.  I heard about it and instantly was excited by the possibility of what God would do on an outreach tour like this.  I’m just waiting to see what he is going to do!!
What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
I’ve never been on a maze trip before…so I’m really not looking forward to the legendary stentch that lurks inside the maze truck!
What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
Seeing everyone from LHC since its been a few months.  Building relationships with the rest of the team and with people we meet.  Getting to a point when we are ridiculously exhausted and start completely relying on God to give us the strength to make each outreach happen!  Some Fun!
What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
If the airline says I can’t bring it…my guitar…if not that…home cooking!

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
i didn’t ‘decide’ to really. I was brought on a looong looong looong time ago… Dan is my Uncle and he asked if i wanted to help out… i’ve been on the team ever since. But i have ‘decided’ to stay on with him ;) This has been a slake in the thirst of my Christian conscience since the first time i’ve helped. In that i mean that it has been a way for me to serve the Lord and really feel like i’m actually worth something or at least doing one small thing worth while in the life that i’m living. It has been nothing but a pleasure and a blessing all throughout.

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
… i was going to type this long message about never worrying about anything and so nothing would have been my answer but then i remembered Dan’s flatulence… and i’m really not looking forward to that ;) On a serious note tho there really is nothing i dread on this trip…

What is the one thing  that you are looking forward to on the trip?
Every single aspect of it - it is a rare opportunity to serve the Lord and however rare these might be in my life, they are what i live for.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?

NOT a person?? (she’s about all i’ll miss)  … hhmmm … are pets allowed ? my computer and sound system maybe ? idk … i enjoy getting away… don’t think i’ll miss much at all. oooo wait - i got it … my COFFEE POT!

GregGreg

Why did you decide to be part of the Maze team?
I couldn’t possibly pass up on an opportunity to travel through some of the best cow-tipping areas in the country.  Seriously though, I find that loving others is one of the clearest ways to experience God’s love. It’s a manner of simultaneously helping other’s broach a relationship with God while strengthening your own. This trip will not only be an amazing opportunity to meet and interact with people in a meaningful way, but to potentially bring meaning to their life.

What is the one thing that you are not looking forward to?
The condition of my digestive system after consuming the amount of Monster Energy drinks I plan on bringing.  I don’t always fare too well in vehicles so I’m not looking forward to 10 straight hours on the road.

What is the one thing that you are looking forward to on the trip?
In short - making a God-inspired, lasting impact on even just one person’s life.

What is the one thing (not a person) that you will miss while you are on the trip?
I think my addiction is pretty obvious to those who know me so I’ll come right out and say it: Facebook.  However, I do anticipate that all the new relationships I’ll be forming will satiate my need for social interaction.

Hey Guys, I just wanted you to know that I have been really encouraged by all of you and your willingness to go. WOW! What a cast of characters God has assembled - you’re definitely in for a lot of laughter. Praying peace and unity for you all. Remember to extend grace to each other, especially when things get…….tense (just got back from Mexico, extending grace is always a good thing!) Take care of my “Hanny”. xox gloria
