The Power of Prayer

It was 2:30 in the morning and I was finally getting to bed! For some very strange reason I woke up and was wide awake a 5:30am. I was determined to get back to sleep before the alarm was going to go off at 7am. I decided to go all the way across the room to the bathroom in the dark. I have a room that resembles a teenage boy war zone. There are four other young men in my room and everything they own including the hotel furniture was between me and the bathroom. It was a difficult trip to say the least!

On Friday night we were in Miamisburg Ohio. It was an interesting event. The school was big and beautiful. The kids absolutely loved the Maze as they do in every city we go.

But when it came time to share the gospel it turned out to be one of the two most difficult situations I’ve ever faced in sharing at Maze events! There were about 150 -200 people in the building and only 8-10 people sat in front and made any attempt to listen.

At first I had a flash thought, what am I doing up here on this stage. Then immediately a peace came over me and I felt so calm. It was as if God said don’t worry I got it covered, do what I brought you here to do. Because of this situation as I was walking up the stairs to the stage Stephen and Sarah passed me saying, we are going to go in the back and pray while you speak.

I also remembered that so many of you had been praying through out the day and evening. I knew right where my peace, in a difficult situation, came from!! Thank you for your part.
I finished the talk, presented the gospel and gave an opportunity for anyone who felt lead to receive Christ. I prayed and left the stage.

Soon after we began to take down and one of the drama guys came over to me and said 6 kids prayed to receive Christ. I was amazed and understood more clearly what He was doing. Only our incredible Father in heaven could do such a thing. So again thank you so much for praying, you are praying souls into eternity.

As of last night we know of at least 25 people who have prayed to receive Christ as savior in this first week of this tour.

Tonight Saturday night we are in Willard Ohio and we’ll share more about that soon.

    WOW, how cool is that!!!
Thank you for sharing this story. It really encourages me to pray even more for you guys on the rest of the trip.

It was wonderful to be with you this past week and see the maze 1st hand. The team is mighty in the Lord and mighty in the flesh (lots of muscles!) and God will use both.

You guys rock! (that’s you too, Sarah and Hanna)!

    Love,

    Dave
